August 29,2008…

The day has started with my morning class running normally and I was starting to feel the nerves for the night’s event. Good thing our classes were cut in half to give way to those who would prepare in full couture battle gear a.k.a. me… just kidding.

After hosting this year’s Capping and Pinning Ceremony, I was invited once again by my school to host the school’s first ever Induction of Officers and Acquaintance Party. I was kind of hesitant at first since I wanted to enjoy the party myself rather than run the entire program. But after learning that I was requested by the president and vice president of our department to host once again, who was I to refuse at a compliment that flattering.

When my classes ended, I was in no hurry since the program was to start at 7pm and when I checked my watch, it was only 11:45 in the morning. When I got home, I spent my hours of waiting by going online and doing absolute randomness. YouTube, Xtube, Lifehouse, Friendster, GSMArena, blogs here and overseas, you name it, I’ve probably visited it. As time passes, I really had no idea why I was starting to have butterflies in my stomach. I never had them when I hosted the Capping event, so why now when it was my second time doing such task? Maybe it was because of the long hours I had to wait for me to get started, or probably the thought of having to sing in front of a crowd after not having done it in the longest time. I really don’t know. All I was sure of, was that my anxiety level was high as it was when I was in high school when I was doing my performances.

Two hours before the time, I started my “red carpet” (cut me some slack for being the frustrated celebrity that I am) regimen by taking a long bath. Followed by picking my outfit, putting make-up (not drag this time LOL), doing my hair, and putting my newly bought gray contact lenses.

Prep…prep…prep…

Done…Done…Done…

I was so happy because this time around, my mom and my sister was with me to see me perform and host. I could tell, despite my mom being sleepy because she just came back from 12 hours of duty with no sleep, how proud she was of me. It was her smile that made my night worth all the anxiety I had to go through. She rarely gives me the smile of approval since I’ve been doing bad in school for the past few semesters LOL, which is why when she gives it away, it matters that I cherish it.

Anyways, enough with the Kodak moment or the Hallmark card, back to me, myself, and I.

When we arrived, I thought a lot of people were there already, being 25 minutes late, but boy was I wrong. Why did I treat La Salette different when it comes to coming on time. Every Filipino is the same as every Filipino, which is why no one could come punctual.

While waiting for the dinner to start, I got a shot of my only friend in my class, Kuya Gilbert, together with my mom on our table.

Now I’ve seen a lot of YouTube videos over the past few years and I think the impact that it had on the world is simply indescribable. From personal videos, to recording of our favorite TV programs, and the ones that I enjoy the most, the videos of creative individuals showcased free of charge.

Now after posting about those material things I was craving for, after seeing the video you are about to see, I felt sooo superficial and materialistic.

Sigh! I remember the days when the definition of fun was still crystal clear to me. Now that I’ve been dealing with all the stresses of school and work, I’ve seem to have forgotten how it feels to have this much fun.

Well, today was quite tragic after all my sidebar content were gone and deleted with no resources to get them back. Damn moving of hosting! LOL

Oh well, too much work has to be done so I’ll leave the video to explain the day I had.

*P.S. forgive me for the lack of hair and make up. I look like a drag dragged down to my grave, Augh! It’s just awful. And my teeth — GROSS! I think it’s time to get those braces after all.
