Chef to Go

Posted by Remcyl under Celebrity, Delectable Edibles, T.V. shows

So yesterday being a boring lazy afternoon, I decided to turn to a channel I don’t normally view, Qtv. To those not in the know, Qtv is like GMA’s version of Studio23.

So anyways, luckily, I was fortunate enough to have a good show in my hand, Chef to Go.

This my gay friends is Rob Pengson. The guy I decided to leave Eli Gonzales for. LOL

He is the gorgeous host of my new found favorite show, Chef to Go. Being a first-time viewer, I really don’t have a clear idea on how the show runs but from what I’ve watched, it was similar to this show I watch on the Travel and Living Channel where chefs cook for hot models as they watch their food being prepared.

He was wearing this hot white long sleeves which was molded to his sculpt body… Oops! Wait, this is supposed to be about the show. So going back. The episode I never took my eyes off from featured Thai dishes which he delivered in the sexiest way. Yes, even hotter than Hot Guys who Cook.

He speaks fluently in the English language which to me is waay sexy for any man.

But I think words are not enough to justify the hotness of Rob Pengson, or the show itself. So go check it out every Sunday at 7pm only on Qtv.

Take care my dear Rob Pengson! Kisses!

Sofa

I miss blogging so much after being busy with my duties for the past few days. Everything seems to be a blur as I can’t seem to see the days pass by because of all the things I’ve been doing.

Anyways, I’ve been sick every evening as well but that doesn’t mean I can’t catch up on the shows I got my eye on.

Project Runway Philippines is definitely living up to it’s viewers’ standards unlike the flop that is known as Philippine’s Next Top Model. The challenges are coming out great so far and the designs I’ve been seeing are up to par. I never thought Filipino talent could be this innovative, but I guess they all proved me wrong.

During commercial breaks, I decided to give Sofa a visit on their website and see what they have to offer as a fashion school.

School of Fashion and the Arts
School of Fashion and the Arts

I was very much impressed with what they have to offer and the fees are very affordable for world class education on fashion, make up, photography, and so much more. Not only are they advocates on the technical aspect of fashion, but the business side as well.

They even have this ongoing competition for young rookie designers like moi who have the skills to be in the industry, with the grand prize of a free education at their school for an entire term.

I applaud the minds of these brilliant people for coming up with such cool affordable concept. Now I could say that there’s hope for all the talented young designers in the Philippines to learn the tricks of the trade.

*Last night, I was at the edge of my seat as my fave and husband-to-be, Eli Gonzales, didn’t quite make a masterpiece. But I still love him. Eli, you have my prayers.

Also, Have I mentioned I am also the husband-to-be of my inspiration for doing great make-up, Jigs Mayuga?

How’s that for a portfolio?

Gulp! both of them are definitely a tall drink of water.

Round up

Posted by Remcyl under Fashion, Homosexuality, Music, School, Style, T.V. shows

I super super miss blogging! I’ve been uber busy the past week and today was the only time I had to blog again about my life.

So without further delay, let’s start.

——

I’ve only started watching Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) on ABS-CBN this week and I must say, I already have a favorite.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people have their money on the good-looking (what’s good looking anywayz) bunch, but I always focus on what competitions such as PDA should be about, and that is raw (not to mention goosebumps-worthy) talent. Compared to most of the guys on the academy, Bugoy definitely has what it takes to make records that would last.

I mean, after all, all their training from the world class instructors wouldn’t be worth anything if all they’re looking for are looks that would sell in the end, right?

I’m definitely looking forward to this season’s winner because frankly, Yeng Constantino really didn’t quite justify what the academy is truly about. I think the other contestants have no idea how big of a threat Bugoy is in terms of voice quality.

Also, for those residing in the Philippines, I would highly recommend to catch Moment of Truth on 2nd Avenue, Project Runway Philippines on ETC, and one show I’d definitely be on the look out for is Shear Genius which premieres on July 24 10pm, also on ETC.

From TV shows we now go to fashion.

Okay, I know with a place like Dagupan where the temperature resembles that of an oven, wearing a shemagh is the last thing you want to use as an accessory, but I definitely think that it’s time to start purchasing them given the rainy days are drawing near a.k.a. everyone would be wearing one by then, and by everyone I mean every gay guy you know.

There isn’t a single store here in Dagupan that sells shemagh so the only way you could get them is by traveling or simply head over to Ebay. I’ve done my research and the price range is pretty affordable I tell you.$7-$11 is something your hardwork is worthy of.

For those who are feeling quite generous, Remcyl Viloria is currently taking any color as a gift. wink!

*To Alain, now you know what this accessory is called LOL

To cheat or not to cheat…

I was watching this program the other day and the topic of the group’s discussion was about education. Apparently, in the Philippines alone, 11 million comprises the out of school youth which is pretty sad considering that the top two priorities in the government’s fund is allocated to health and education if I’m not mistaken.

For those given the wonderful opportunity of studying, are we really even getting our money’s worth? Well, in my school, I think I just learned how things work days ago.

It was our examination day and I have to say I think I did pretty well in terms of studying for my exam. So the next day, I was more than ready to take the first test. Our proctor was our school coordinator which was not as strict as I was hoping her to be. After lunch, our proctor was replaced by a new one and to my surprise, the girls in my class were more than happy to welcome her with smiles on their faces reaching their ears. I was really in question why they were so happy. Turns out, the proctor and the girls are close. Too close in fact that she intentionally and blatantly allowed all the girls to cheat during the exam. I am telling you, books laid out in the open and comparison of answers from their seatmates were as blatant as Elton John.

Just when I thought things were at their worst possible state, I was wrong. I passed my paper to the proctor since I was done with the test without an answer copied from any of my classmates. When I got back to my seat, she called my attention and told me I missed out four items on the enumeration part of the test, and wanted me to answer them since it was okay for me to open my book. But I wasn’t that student she was expecting me to be. Though a typical student might have made the innate decision to jump on the opportunity, I certainly didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tried cheating before in my high school days, and it was something I wasn’t proud of and never will be proud of, but I am passed that phase of depending on others’ answers for my score’s sake.

To my proctor, for a clinical instructor, you should be ashamed of yourself for encouraging students to cheat and suffer the consequences later on in the board exams.

Are we living in a world where schools are now encouraging us to cheat? To learn by having the answers shoved up our ass? To possess knowledge in a way we haven’t earned rightfully?

I’m pretty sure to generalize the entire school population in the Philippines is quite an overstatement, but the fact that problems like these are present, is a sad sad dose of reality that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

Passing the nursing course is a needle in a haystack, and others might resort to several ways just so they could graduate. But after failing my NCM 102 in the University of Pangasinan and transferring to a new school while others who failed as well still managed to get in because of the palakasan strategy, I knew the cheating of my classmates and for the proctor to just allow it to happen was something I wouldn’t tolerate. My classmates kept on complaining after they felt betrayed by their former school because of bias decisions, it was so hypocritical of them to be playing the bias game with me. I am playing fairly, and I expect them to do the same, because that is how things should be. Our school is so proud of screaming that we are a De La Salle Supervised School, let’s not give them reasons to question this title.

All I’m trying to prove here is that we made mistakes in the past, and given the second chance to study the subject again, I believe we should be taking it more seriously. Agree?

I was checking my Friendster this morning and browsed through the recent updates my friends had. When I got to the third person on the list, I was taken aback, stupefied, aghast (LOL)! My dear friend during my elementary days, Emily Ocsan, got married last June 28 to her sweet husband.

I must admit, I was very happy to hear the news. It only seems like yesterday when we were checking on each other’s time just to be the earliest bird in the classroom. She was my childhood sweetheart (yes, despite being gay, I had those days) and now she’s the lucky wife to a great gentleman. I haven’t met the guy yet, but I’m sure he’s a great person knowing Emily’s standards.

At such a young age, Emily makes wise decisions, and spending the rest of her life with a special guy is definitely one of them.

Makes me super jealous of the fact that she could marry the guy she loves unconditionally any time she wants. Too bad for me (and the rest of the gay community residing in the Philippines), I have to go abroad and find the state where gay marriages are legal. I’m pretty sure with a conservative country like the Philippines, gay marriages are miles away from realization. Makes me wonder why a lot of people are considering getting a divorce without even treasuring what they have, without taking into consideration that not everyone is lucky to marry the person they want to spend every day of their lives with.

To Emily, you deserve nothing but the best! Now that you have your man by your side, I could now say you’re complete.

Bliss and Kisses to Mrs. Emily Ocsan-Costales!

Please do get a copy of the hottest craze on the dance floor, Jump Around, now available in record bars nationwide. Also, catch That’s My Doc every Saturday at 6:00pm only in the number one station, ABS-CBN.

New Video Link!

Please do check out my videos in my YouTube Player on the video link found at the top of this site. I’m so glad to have you, my readers, have access to all my videos right here without having to view all of them individually on YouTube’s site. So do check them out.

New Exchange!

Also, I’d like to welcome two new links on my blogroll, Dave and Jepoy Go who’s writings justifies the need for them to be included in my list.

After the long days of reviewing for the final examinations, I must say I’m pretty amped up to blog. I miss my life so much. Yes, for me, school life is no life at all. It’s only a preparation to the real deal so this to me is pretty much like life in Hollywood. Fake and hiding behind the curtains and yet everyone seems to want to have a taste of it. I once did too, but I grew out of it.

Anyways, I went back to my inner stylist and decided to do what I do best, cut hair!

Butterflies pretty much surrounded my stomach since it’s been so long since I last did a haircut. But I knew I still had it in me. The Nursing course might be all what I do right now, but my talent remains in my soul (how deep LOL). I really had fun doing the hair of my 4 clients namely, my mom (who was my most meticulous client so far), my sister (who pretty much had a $700-free make-over just because I’m his gay brother), Maricar (who gave me the most publicity with her mouth), and Rizza (who by far has the thickesthair I had to work with! Talk about gazillion layers!)

Pictures would come soon if I could get them to do a gorgeous photo shoot with me.

YouTube Views!

Archuleta’s Best!

So now that I have more free time in my hands, I finally got to surf my favorite video site next to XTube (wink! just kidding…or not) and show you what I’ve been sitting to all day long.

So I’ve always fell in love with Daviad Archuleta the moment I saw his audition on AI and I even planned in making this site of mine a sort of unofficial fansite of his but never really had the chance to work on it due to my busy school schedule. Anyways, I always admired his ability in doing vibratos so well, but this performance of his really nailed the reason why I love him so much.Aside from the performance, after all the grotesque (yes, this season, not only Noriega deserves this adjective) outfits Paula Ab-DULL has been flaunting, this is her best look so far compared to those sparkly pieces and gloves kinda thing. Whoever dressed her on this episode should keep his/her job.

Move over Anton!

When you say Regine Impersonator in the Philippines, people would immediately refer to Anton Diva as the best in immitating Asia’s Songbird (seriously people, do Asians really even know she’s the songbird?). But the above video is more of the lip sing impersonator. Just watch her roll her eyes and flap her lips. It’s so good I’m speechless after seeing it on TV.

What the?

The question here is not who’s vocalizing, but who’s in the background laughing like a hyena. So there you go guys. Watch out for new entries. My head is filled with ideas ideas ideas. :)

Free digital art!… I hate Letterman!

Posted by Remcyl under Designs, Style, T.V. shows

Okay, so I’m trying to establish myself as a graphic designer slash hair stylist. One huge problem, my portfolio isn’t that well packed yet. So I need help!

Ladies and gentlehomos, I know how expensive photo editing and graphic art can be soo expensive, so I’m giving the first 15 requests the chance to get images from me for free just so I could use it as an art for my portfolio. Here’s how:

1. Whether or not I know you personally, pretend you’re a client asking me for an output (preferably a website banner/image, poster, CD cover, brochure, or a business card).

2. Set your own rules, tell me how you want it, and be as bossy as you could be (I want a Donald Trump-ish attitude as my training ground).

3. You’re done! Well, there is one thing I want you to do. I want you to be real. After I send you the graphics through e-mail, send me your reaction (candid and frank!) to the art, how your transaction was with me, and suggestions if any.

I’ll be waiting for your requests (I hope this time at least 1 would bother lol)

I hate Letterman!

Okay, so I was flippin through some videos on youtube and decided to look up for some on my favorite heiress and came across this episode of David Letterman on his show.

I know how a lot of people don’t like her and thinks that she’s stupid, but this is just plain cruel!

Shame on you Dave!

Shame on you for being the OLDER one who should be wiser more than anything. You are the top epitome of a bully, the reason for every person’s traumatic childhood. I can’t believe one slap wasn’t enough to satisfy your personal satisfaction that you went for more.

Shame on you Dave for the kind of behavior you showed. If that’s how you are as a father to your kid, then I despise the upbringing you do. If this happened to your child, I hope she’s as tough as Paris in handling the situation.

Augh! I just burst with anger after seeing this.

I’ve never agreed with anyone who considers Paris stupid. And I really don’t care if people considers me stupid for thinking Paris isn’t. After all, no one’s stupid.

In fact, she’s more responsible contrary to what many believe. She managed to make movies, her own clothing line (and FYI she made it affordable just so she could reach out to the other end of the spectrum), 5 perfumes, hair extensions, and made a career as a model.  At her age, hasn’t she excelled more than most of us?

The THING is, she does her own thing. FUCK all the people who thinks it’s stupid.

I remember my elementary teacher telling me once, that everyone’s intelligent, but not everyone’s wise. It is how we use the intelligence we possess that makes us wise. No matter how much we try to hide it, the truth, that there will always be something that someone knows more than we do. A doctor may know all about health and medicine, but a carpenter knows as good the kinds of tools there are to build a house, which the former may not know.

STOP!

Stop all the hatred! For once, let’s help someone get up when they get pushed to the ground, for I’m sure we’d want the same if karma slaps us on the face.

Anyhoo, I’m not paid by Paris’ people in the making of this entry. Just so you’d know. Hello! The episode was waaaayyyy back!

A gay kid

Posted by Remcyl under Homosexuality, T.V. shows

Gay childThe debate between me and my mom about whether or not gay people are born or made has been going on for like forever already. I side with the former as she rants about the latter. But there really is no point in this unending conversations since I have already concluded on my sexuality.

I have watched this documentary weeks ago. I keep on forgetting to blog about it since nothing seems to remind me to do so. So here it goes.

The documentary was conducted by Ms. Karen Davila who I believe, delivered the concept fairly.

She showcased specifically the lives taken by two 11-year old boys who happens to be gay at such a young age. I can’t find a video on Youtube to at least show you what it was like so you just have to picture each description.

Kenneth, the gay boy who is blatantly showing off his gayness to his entire family, is accepted with his feminine traits and lifestyle. He puts on powder, eyeliner, and lipstick every time he goes to school and isn’t hesitant to do so. Though teachers instruct him to know his limits, he is free to do almost anything. In his free time, he hangs out with his peers ages 7-11, who are gay as well.

One of which, we will name Michael (I have no trace of his real identity), has a different story to that of Kenneth. Though Michael is as blatant as his peers in school or during play, the restrictions of his sexuality are tight in his home. There, you will see no sign of his gayness. No swaying of hips, effeminate movements, putting of make-up, and the likes. When caught, he is punished severely both by his mother and father. His mother aspires to change his ways for she finds homosexuality unacceptable both to her and society. She wants what’s best and safe for him, and she believes Michael could only achieve that by facing away from such lifestyle. She fears for the criticism her son is to hear, and that is one thing she isn’t ready for.

Ms. Davila asked Michael on what he wishes for. He replied with tears in his eyes that he wishes for his family to be able to accept his sexuality despite of what society has to say. When asked of its importance, he said that it’s important for him to be accepted by those who love him, specifically his family.

A simple wish, from a simple kid.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand that all we want is to enjoy life and be happy just like everyone else? Something so simple, I can’t, up to this day, understand why society can’t give this to us that they have to say emotionally-scarring criticisms and derogatory remarks.

A gay kid, I believe, was born gay, will live everyday as a gay person, and will die gay no matter how much anyone tries to mold him otherwise. It’s like asking a zebra to get rid of his stripes; a giraffe to surgically shorten its neck; or a cheetah to give up its speed. The possibility of it my friends, is next to impossible.

BEING GAY ISN’T ALL ABOUT SEX! Couldn’t anyone believe for once, that maybe, just maybe, a relationship just like anyone else’s, is possible and is in fact currently existing. We too have emotions waiting to be shared to that someone special who longs for the same thing. The longing for that one person you wish to wake up every single morning for the rest of your life. So let us be.

My intention of writing this entry is quite simple, acceptance. And I will not stop putting my heart into these kinds of writing till I get it. For I believe, that everyone, gay or straight, is entitled to such priceless privilege.

Over and Out!
