Zola Dagupan just opened recently and it has been making a huge buzz around the little city of Dagupan and we only have one person to thank, and that is the same guy responsible for putting up Zola Baguio.

For me and Boo’s first monthsary, I took him to Zola to see what the buzz is all about. But not only that, i gave him a new haircut as you can see in the picture, and the fabulous shirt he is wearing as well. It kinda brings out the sophisticated rocker inside of him, don’t you think?

I am telling you people, prepare yourself for a whirlwind around Zola with my infamous “smile”, for sprinkling it all over the place would be a complete understatement.

With Boo being the one in-the-know with all the dishes in Zola, I allowed him to do the ordering for he knows what’s best.

As for me, I guess you know by now what happens next…

Drinks, anyone?

I on the other hand was wearing the white cargo jeans and black top he gave me. :)

We ordered bolognese and carbonara and an 8″ pizza for dinner and given the time to prepare these kinds of dishes, I’d have to say it was served pretty fast.

I wasn’t ready with my “smile” yet and Boo took the shot already. Hmf!

Spell YUM! Y-U-M!

It was pretty small being a pizza lover, but after binging on the bolognese I had, I left my last slice untouched. I think the pictures alone are enough justification on how much I loved the food.

First the Bolognese. . .

Then the pizza. . .

Okay, okay, I may have overdone this whole trying-to-gain-weight thing

After all that food I was ready to go to the comfort room LOL. I was full to my throat and the iced tea was just enough to quench my thirst.

Or maybe not…

It was pretty fun shouting at each other with so much noise we had to compete with. But as the night went further on, the older people started leaving so we pretty much had a cozy ending to our date. Before we left the fabulous location while Boo was at the comfort room, I used my pizza knife and dabbed it on the saucer with catsup and left a message for him on a tissue paper which read “I (heart) you”. It sure did put a smile on his face. :)

Happy First Monthsary Boo! I certainly had a great time!

Days had passed but this was the only time I had to blog about me and Huggie’s special day celebrated last July 10, 2008. Better late than never I always say. :)

———-

So we were supposed to have our make-up class with our instructor, Ms. Inacay, but turns out she had sore eyes. She sent me a text message minutes before I was about to leave the house which was truly a jumping moment for me. I was super amped about the news that I sent Boo an instant message telling him to call me up so I could spill the good news to him. When he called up, he was as excited as I was. Truly, the day was meant to happen happily for the two of us.

So I met up with him where we were to have our Lunch, which was at Jack’s. We love the food there because we get a lot of serving for the price we can afford.

So once again, the serving of the food took quite a while. I was loving Boo’s outfit that I wanted to capture it on camera.

He simply makes the best candid photos which I envy so much.

As boo looked super fab ala Christian Siriano, I looked like the crap ordered from hell. Seriously, I need a wardrobe change!

I look soo bad the picture needed to be captured via Sepia.

So after having the Jack’s rice last time, we decided to order something different.

I orderd the Lechon Kawali (bottom dish) served with fried rice, while Boo had their Sizzling Pork Chop (top dish). I wasn’t able to taste the pork chop so I really couldn’t tell you guys if it’s a winner or a never-try-it dish. As for my Lechon Kawali, I was a bit shocked that I only get 5 slices with the proportion of their rice serving. Though it is fried rice, given that you can eat it on its own, was still a disappointment. Another disappointment was how salty it was. I couldn’t imagine how much soy sauce went into making this dish but I’m guessing it’s enough to give your body a run for its money.

Before we ate, I took one more picture of Boo as he made a joke out of his iced tea.

[eat... eat... and ate some more...]

Since he brought most of his stuff for our little plan for tonight, I had to bring it home first so we could get through the day not carrying the big paper bag known as his things :).

When he received a call from Lyra, a friend of his, saying that she was at Nepo Mall, he wanted me to meet her, so we did.

She asked if we already ate, and though we said yes, she insisted on eating again which I think was very sweet of her. So even if I was uber full with what we had at Jack’s, I fed myself more with some Pancit Palabok and pineapple juice.

That’s Ms. Lyra on the right and fashion guru, boo, on the left ahihi :)

By this time, I may be smiling but I am bloated!

So we roamed the mall thrice after dining at Jollibee and frankly, it didn’t take us that long to do that.

When Lyra had to go somewhere, I decided to finally give Boo the haircut he needed before we go to Zola. I promised myself that was the place I’d be taking him since I could really tell how much he misses it. But since the day was young, I took him to City Mall to buy him a special something something as my monthsary gift to him.

The night finally arrived and we were starving! We couldn’t say Zola faster!

Zola! Zola! Voila!

We arrived and I’d have to say, it was NOISY! The place was packed with people and I’d have to say, they’re a hit!

…to be continued

I promised Boo I’d be taking him out on a date right after attending mass in Manaoag so that’s exactly what I did.

After the long ride home, we finally arrived and bought our good friend, Razzi (Boo’s Cybershot camera), some energy-boosted Energizer advanced batteries to capture our best moments.

So we basically are sick of fast foods after going there for the past two weeks. Not that there’s anything wrong with Jollibee, but their french fries simply could not make us come back for another visit. So we decided to try out Jack’s since Boo was telling all about it last night.

Jack’s is the first business to open up in the newly standing

The first thing they served us was a small bowl for our sauces which consisted basically of soy sauce and calamansi. After Boo squeezed the calamansi, I asked him if we could do a short pictorial while waiting for the main dish to arrive. And so we did.

The next thing they served were our drinks. We ordered iced tea and that’s exactly what we got — Iced tea straight from the bottle. I always find it weird how some restaurants can’t even manage to at least give the customers a bit of a mystery by not letting them know how their drinks are prepared.

I was just opening my bottle when I noticed Boo was starting to take snapshots of me.

So I told him I wasn’t ready yet and wanted to have another shot. This time, doing my infamous “smile”.

After a couple of minutes, the main dish finally arrived. We were supposed to have the Liempo meal but when Boo saw the Jack’s rice meal, we jumped at it and wanted to try it out since it was different from the Jack’s rice served in Baguio.

As I asked Boo to take a picture of the dish, I was on a head start as I was unwrapping my spoon and fork.

The Jack’s rice served here in Dagupan consisted of a bowl of rice topped with sunny side up, fried chicken, and chopsuey covering a Liempo-ish meat. Yum Yum!

When it was served, I was so excited that I held on to my plate and fixed it to be exactly in front of me. To my surprise, I got hold of a plate with a very oily bottom. Hmmm, I’m suspecting the cleaning of the plates are not being monitored. Manager!

But what the heck! I was starving and I didn’t give a damn!

Rachelle Ann Go!

The chicken I’d have to say was very dry. I couldn’t taste anything once I pass through the skin. I have to make everything delectable by topping it with the soy sauce we prepared. The chopsuey on the other hand was a knock-out. It was just the right amount of sauce, the vegetables were sweet and the serving was more than what anyone could ask for. The egg I think was totally unnecessary. I believe that in every serving of a dish, everything found on the plate must compliment the rest of the plate’s content, and it didn’t do anything to save the chicken.

Boo kept looking at me the whole time I was eating when he was finished with his plate.

He had this cute smile and I immediately got the camera and asked him not to move a single muscle.

He was done with his meal long before I got to finish mine. His eyes started wandering so I made his wait worthwhile by snapping another shot.

So I finished anyways.

And here’s the BadingAko ratings for Jack’s Dagupan.

Tidiness

Ambiance

We decided to visit the place where we first met since we were wearing the same outfits anyway.

We say hello once again to the land where the beach is dirty (but props for having a slight improvement) and where cottages for sex are like candies out in the open.

Voila! Zola!

A hot spot hits Dagupan and we are ready to conquer!

After hearing about this frenzy from Boo (Hugz) from the time we met, it has finally arrived last night and sadly, I wasn’t there! Yes, the infamous Zola opened last night and everyone who’s anyone was there. The weather wasn’t cooperating and I had no one to go there with, even Alain, since I am out of cash (as usual).

With this great news comes another.

I was just informed yesterday by the school coordinator that I was chosen (among the few) to be the master of ceremonies at La Salette’s 2008 Capping Ceremonies this July 11, 2008. And to my surprise, my English teacher who I had several arguments with during class was the one who recommended me. Talk about loving your enemies! Kidding!

Maybe the night after the Capping ceremonies I’ll be inviting Boo and some friends to check out the place and give you the inch-to-inch details.

Friends and Hugz

So I’m pretty glad that I’ve been seeing Alain again after not being able to hang out with him for almost a year. We’ve been going around the city lately and most of them are all expense paid. Lucky for me he’s still unemployed and living the life of a socialite.

So after my class, we decided to drop by the coffee shop near my school, Digital Learning Links. I’ll just be posting a review of the cozy place (but there’s a shop even cozier than this and you’ll know why soon) when I don’t look like a schlub ‘coz frankly, this a look I don’t wanna be seen in my blog again.

And now, my sweet Hugz!

Enough about Alain, he had waaay too much exposure already in my 5-part entry.

So me and Hugz, together with Alain, decided to go to Manaoag last Sunday for me to finally introduce him so Alain could know my hubby better.

We both looked super cute in our outfits while Alain looked like our personal Razzi.

The necklace he gave me just fits every outfit of mine.

Everytime I do this “smile” I always have this image of Mary on my mind hating it. LOL

Ah yes! Life is sweet!

The dish we just had was something that needed time before it went down the “drain”. So a walk down Session Road was what we needed to take time off of our hands and let our feet do the walking wherever it may lead us.And you can never walk the streets of Session Road without paying the church a visit. The Baguio Cathedral has always been a part of my family’s visit everytime we go to Baguio. But it was only now when I was marveled at it’s beauty and silence.

This was my second shot and I chose this than the former since I wanted to capture the “gold/orange-ness” of the altar. I can’t help but gaze upon its beauty.

I was a bit teary after praying I must admit. Must’ve been because of all what has happened to me and how wrongly I’ve handled them, for I know I could’ve done better, a lot better.

When the three of us were done, I wanted to light some candles. So Alain showed us the way outside the church where the lighting was found. It was a path of saints and I was once again out of words for it’s beauty.

After having our candles lit, we headed back to SM Baguio to once again take advantage of the time we had together as we wait for Ayessa.

Their plan this time was to have coffee since I was freezing to death.

So we went to this amazing coffee shop, Saints Cafe’. We decided to stay inside since I was close to being ice. Our orders somehow took longer than expected, but once again, our innate decision was to camwhore.

Turns out, it was a bad idea since Alain was insisting the background made it seem like he was in Dubai, which means a gazillion shots of the same face and angle with the background that he fell in love with. Seriously, I could make an art gallery with the number of the shots he took of himself. But to save you guys from the agony of his face, I only selected a few.

Wiping the face is the perfect time to do a snapshot

Don’t you just hate how shadows could ruin a great picture

The ride to Baguio was definitely a safe and smooth one. We’ve chowed down on some Wonka Nerds which was a first for me. It has the most delicious sour taste I’m drooling as I type Haha!

Upon arriving, all of us were hungry so we headed to the first place on our itinerary, SM Baguio. Alain and I were thinking where to take daisy because it needs to be somewhere oober Pinoy since she’s been having nothing but Western/Chinese meals. Where better than Kubong Sawali.

Out of all the restaurants I’ve dined in before, nothing compares to the ambiance of Kubong Sawali. They had this Pinoy atmosphere joined in with great Filipino bossa nova music. To add to this, may I say they have the most hospitable and friendly crew ever! Need I say more?

Since our orders were taking a bit longer than expected, we all know what happens next right?

While me and my mom were cleaning the house, I got a surprise text message from Daisy. The text that she sent informed me that she was back home once again! Of course I was pleasantly surprised as I miss her so much. She is so good at coming home without anyone having a clue which I love because you get that certain smile on your face that won’t go away till you see her personally.

So I replied to her message and immediately set the date for me to get to spend time with her. Apparently, Alain was coming along so I was even more thrilled since I can’t remember the last time me and Alain hanged out. He must be oober fat right now I thought. And right as I always am, he was and is still is (even bigger if I may say so).

And so we met last… when did we meet again? LOL

Anyways, we met (haha) at Malimgas Market for Daisy was shopping for some threads and garters. Alain was there too, flaunting his new phone which he got for his debut (haha) and I immediately thought of camwhoring the entire time.

Daisy looked a lot different with her bangs but deep inside she’s still humble and the same old Daisy.

We headed off to Razon’s for some fine dining. They had the best halo-halo in town and no one could debate about that so I wanted Daisy to have a taste. But of course the main dish comes first.

Daisy had the (was this chicken or pork? I really can’t remember.–Darn memory loss!) shanghai with chicken/pork, while Alain and I had Sisig and shanghai.

We had the place amped up with our voices and laughs. I even caught one of the customers laughing with us as we talked. I always find it funny how other people could laugh at others’ conversations because it’s inevitable. LOL

Here’s a picture of Daisy and Alain at Razon’s Dagupan.

I don’t know if it’s Daisy’s bangs I should look at or her cleavage? Bout you?

Come to think of it, how come I didn’t have any pictures with Daisy at Razon’s? GRRR Alain! GRRR!

The cats were finally out of the bag, our stories were shared but surprisingly, we haven’t even started yet. Ayessa is still not in the picture. So we decided to pay her a visit in Baguio. I was head over heels because for the whole summer vacation I never got the chance to move out of the city and do something worthwhile.

So I packed my tote bag and we were off to Baguio the next morning.

Gotta love the shades. They’re my favorite! If this was ANTM, Tyra’s immediate comment on Daisy would be: “No Neck!”

Gone to Binalonan?

Posted by Remcyl under Family, Hot Spots!

Not yet you say? Well, I certainly had visited one of the most beautiful houses in the area that are as ancient as Barbara Walters.

I mean, it’s soo unique for having a modern furnishing on the ground floor, and a vintage showroom on the second floor. Not to mention a bahay kubo located in their vast land worth a hundred grand great for relaxing and taking that hibernating kind of sleep (I certainly had).

No need for words my dear… Here are the pictures
