REMCYL WHO?

Posted by Remcyl under Uncategorized

Abraham Remcyl Laforteza-Viloria, born on the 6th day of March 1987 is Dagupan City’s self-confessed infamous homo. The proud owner of what soon will be known as the web site that put Dagupan City on the map with all the scandals and fabulous writings, all in one. The web site focuses on the daily lifestyle of a gay student showcasing the ups and downs, and the on-going fight for acceptance for the LBGT community. He wants to denounce discrimination and believes in the power of truth.

Remcyl finished his primary education in Ednas School, known for their strictly English campus. But gone are the days when he wets his pants just for not knowing where the comfort rooms are.

High school on the other hand was a blast for him. This was his stepping stone in finally morphing into the person he wanted to be. As a freshman, he was immediately known for his extreme vocals being on the very first singing contest held that year also known as Buwan ng Wika. He was paired with every singer in their school and performed on most programs. Being a sophomore was probably the biggest of all his high school years. This was the year he got in as the school’s fashion columnist in their school paper, the year he beat other year levels in a Powerpoint presentation, the year he excelled in more singing competitions and was even the start of the succeeding victories. The rest as they say, is history. During these times, he finally came down to a conclusion that he is different among other guys. As a freshman he wandered on his identity, and graduated as a senior concluding his sexuality. Yes, he’s gay!

This made the rest of his world a whole lot simpler. Or so he thought.

Despite being easy and comfortable in his own skin, society still manages to pick on his shortcomings and considers him a maverick as he passes the hallways. How could being happy be so difficult for others to understand? That who he is, is who he wants to be, and forever will be. The realization sinked in! Sexism is one thing he could never find acceptable. This site shouts to the world that nothing is wrong with being gay. It is not a disease people should be trying to find a cure for, nor is it a crime punishable by anyone.

Today, Remcyl lives his life with no limits by expressing himself no matter how the society might perceive him. He is a freelancer in the fields he excel in despite having to do it while being in a medical course.

Remcyl Viloria the graphic artist. Ever since he was introduced to the world of photo editing and the making of digital art, he took it very seriously and decided to make it as a part-time job of his. He studied the craft very well and now his works are truly astounding for a guy his age.

Remcyl Viloria the hairstylist. It was because of the reality show, Blow Out by Jonathan Antin, that he was inspired to venture into the world of cutting hair. There was this certain spark about the whole idea since just the thought of doing such profession was next to impossible yet seemed to be in his grasp. He watched the show religiously and got himself some informal education somehow. The techniques of cutting used on the show was all he needed to pursue the dream that started that night. After his first client being a success, he knew that this is what he wanted to do in the future, and surprisingly, it is what he is doing.

Remcyl Viloria the fashion designer. Looking good doesn’t come easy for a guy like Remcyl. The uniqueness of his style can sometimes be over the board for some people, and even more difficult than that, the availability of the clothes for his style isn’t accessible in his little city of Dagupan. So he decided one day in sketching out some images of clothes he wanted for himself. As a rookie, his sketches were more than what he expected because it turned out really great. Another sketch followed, then another, till he was able to draw more than 30 images. Right now, this is all done as a hobby since designing clothes is something that needs proper education. At the right time, he will pursue this field, but for now, he only accepts people needing sketches and get it sewn some place else.

Remcyl’s second life after the brain operation he had in 2004 is something he values incomparably. Being in a middle-class family, they simply can’t afford to have another procedure done. The talents he was blessed with isn’t wasted since he uses them all as he enjoys life.
